Usability testing doesn't test whether or not an application or program functions as intended. Rather, it assesses whether a user intuitively understands how to perform tasks that an app presents - and how easy or difficult it is to do so. In today's competitive apps economy, "good enough" won't cut it. An app can have superior architecture, a great set of features and good performance, but all effort is wasted if the user experience is inadequate. A poor user experience can lead to diminished revenue, product abandonment or total failure. With the short patience of today's consumers, you might only get one chance to make a good impression.
