The stakes are high for Scrum Product Owners. Accountable for maximising the value of the end product, they often have to juggle the expectations of multiple stakeholders while ensuring complete visibility. How does their role vary across different industries and what do they need to be successful?
During this session, Neville Agius (Product Owner, Play'n GO) will present his insights on The Scrum Product Owner Role in different Industries.
Neville is member of the Product Development team within the Platform Engineering division at Play'n GO. He is Product Owner of the core remote game server that hosts all games built by our Games Teams.
Being the core of our platform, we aim at providing competitive advantages that allow all technology teams in Play'n GO to conveniently run game backends, data applications, operational tooling and services. Our aim is to simplify running sotware reliably so that these teams can focus more on improving business value and player experience that ultimately contributes towards the overarching company objective - that of being the best entertainment provider!
Prior to moving to the online gaming industry, he spent nearly the last decade working on IT projects in other verticals like the financial services industry and the airline industry.
Other positions he occupied in the past include that of Head of Applications and Software Engineering with the national airline carrier where he led several digital transformation initiatives in all areas of the airline comprising commercial-related projects, integration projects and more.
Neville is passionate about agile product management, data science, AI and machine learning amongst other things but one area of particular interest is that of building application networks by connecting applications, data, and devices through APIs. He enjoys working with world-class engineering teams to solve hard problems and loves building products that empower brands to build individualized, lifelong relationships with users at scale.
